Indian Publisher Bennett, Coleman & Co is not anly updating elderly machinery but also invests in new equipment.
TKS (Tokyo Kikai Seisakusho, Ltd.) of Japan was awarded an order for one set of the Color Top 5100 UDI 4×1 offset printing press for a new printing plant in Manesar, located approximately 30 km southwest of Delhi airport. The new press is scheduled to go in full operation on August 1st, 2018. Since it will be the first TKS machine for Benett Coleman & Co. Ltd., they consulted in great detail over specifications and technologies. Benett Coleman also conducted their own research about TKS machines used in India, while visiting various TKS sites. During their visit to Japan, the executive members of Benett Coleman & Co. Ltd. went on a TKS Kazusa Techno Center factory inspection tour and could see the TKS commitment in manufacturing.
The new machine, Color Top 5100 UDI is an offset rotary press which can print 40 pages of full color newspaper. Its full operation is scheduled on August 1st, 2018. The specification of Color Top 5100 UDI to be installed: Five Color Top towers 4/4, one folder (2:3:3 jaw folder) and five reels; shaftless unit drive, with spray dampening and open fountain inking system. Maximum web width is 1,397 mm, cutoff 546 mm, maximum speed is 80,000 cph.
